Turkey’s Annual Inflation Eases Slightly in July, CPI Slips to 31.75%

Turkey’s consumer price inflation edged down in July 2026, with the year-over-year Consumer Price Index (CPI) reading easing to 31.75%, according to data updated on 3 August 2026. This marks a modest decline from June 2026, when annual inflation stood at 32.11%.

The figures show a slight cooling in price pressures on a year-over-year basis, as the July reading compares the change in prices to July of the previous year, while June’s reading was measured against June a year earlier. Although inflation remains elevated, the back-to-back data points suggest a tentative shift toward slower annual price growth in mid-2026, as the pace of increase in consumer prices has inched down between June and July.

Market participants and policymakers will be closely watching whether this nascent easing trend can be sustained in the coming months, as the inflation trajectory remains central to Turkey’s broader economic outlook and potential policy decisions in the second half of 2026.
