In healthcare, Bristol‑Myers Squibb jumped nearly 10% following reports that it may be a takeover target for AstraZeneca. Semiconductor stocks remained volatile as investors repeatedly reassessed speculative positioning and highly leveraged players were forced to unwind at likely discounts. Memory chip makers led the sector lower, with Micron and SanDisk both falling more than 3%.
