Industrial production in Finland rose by 4.5% year-on-year in June 2026, accelerating from a 0.5% increase in May. The strongest growth was recorded in the electricity, gas, heating, and air conditioning supply sector, where output expanded by 5.4% following a 0.1% decline in the previous month. Activity in mining and quarrying also rebounded sharply, increasing by 4.2% after a 10% contraction in May.
Manufacturing output grew at a faster pace as well, up 4.4% compared with 0.6% in the prior month. This was driven by higher production in the forest industry (8.3% vs 1.9%) and the metal sector (9% vs 2.7%).
By contrast, output declined in several segments: textile, clothing, and leather (-7.2% vs 4.4%); printing and reproduction of recorded media (-8.5% vs -10.1%); and furniture (-20.3% vs -8.7%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, overall industrial activity increased by 2.1%, recovering from an upwardly revised 1.7% drop in the previous period.
