UK Growth Momentum Slows as 3-Month GDP Rate Eases to 0.4% in June

The United Kingdom’s growth momentum softened at the end of the second quarter, with the Monthly GDP 3M/3M Change easing to 0.4% in June 2026, down from 0.6% in May 2026. The latest figure, updated on 13 August 2026, points to a modest but noticeable loss of pace in the UK economy over the three months to June.

While the economy continues to expand, the slowdown from May’s reading suggests that activity is growing at a more restrained rate. The 0.4% three‑month change indicates that output is still edging higher, but at a weaker clip than earlier in the period, as reflected in the shift from May’s 0.6% reading.

The June data will feed into market and policy discussions about the resilience of UK growth heading into the second half of the year, with investors and analysts likely to scrutinise upcoming releases for signs of whether this deceleration persists or stabilises at current levels.
