Poland’s Inflation Climbs to 3.0% in July, Moving Further Above Central Bank Target

Poland’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose to 3.0% year-over-year in July 2026, up from 2.5% in the previous reading, according to data updated on 13 August 2026. The figures are based on annual comparisons, measuring price changes in July against the same month a year earlier.

The latest data indicate a clear acceleration in inflation compared with the previous month’s year-over-year increase, which had held at 2.5%. With CPI now at 3.0% on a year-over-year basis, price growth has moved further above the lower end of many central banks’ typical comfort zones, underscoring a shift away from earlier, more moderate inflation dynamics.

The comparison framework used shows “actual” as the change in prices for July versus July a year ago, while the “previous” figure reflects the analogous comparison for the prior month against its level a year earlier. This highlights that the pickup in inflation is not just a month-to-month fluctuation, but a strengthening in the annual pace of price growth in Poland.
