Wholesale price inflation in India’s manufacturing sector quickened in July 2026, with the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) for manufactured products rising 8.29% year-over-year, up from 7.48% in June 2026.
The latest data, updated on 14 August 2026, show a continued build-up in price pressures within the manufacturing segment. On a year-over-year basis, July’s reading reflects a stronger increase in wholesale manufacturing prices compared with the same month a year earlier, and marks a clear acceleration from June, which was also measured against the corresponding month of the previous year.
The July uptick suggests that input cost pressures and pricing power in the manufacturing value chain may be intensifying, a development that could eventually filter through to consumer prices and corporate margins if sustained in the coming months.
