Slovakia’s economy expanded by 0.7% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, easing from a 0.9% increase recorded in the first quarter of 2026. The latest reading, updated on 14 August 2026, confirms a continued moderation in growth momentum on an annual comparison basis.
Both the current and previous figures are measured year-on-year, comparing each quarter with the same period a year earlier. The first-quarter result reflected a 0.9% rise versus the first quarter of the previous year, while the second-quarter outcome shows a 0.7% gain over the corresponding quarter a year ago, underscoring a slight but clear deceleration in Slovakia’s GDP growth trajectory.
