FX.co ★ Romania Jobless Rate at 5-Month Low

Romania’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 6.4% in July 2026, down from an upwardly revised 6.8% in June, reaching its lowest level since February. The number of unemployed persons declined by 28.7 thousand compared with the previous month, but was still 42 thousand higher than a year earlier. By gender, the unemployment rate for men dropped to 6.2% from 6.6% in June, while the rate for women decreased to 6.7% from 7.1%. Among individuals aged 25 to 74, who represented 76.4% of the total unemployed, the unemployment rate inched down to 5.2% from 5.3% in June. Nonetheless, compared with the same month of the previous year, the overall unemployment rate remained above the 5.9% recorded in July 2025.
