Colombia PPI Growth Hits Lowest Since February

Colombia’s Producer Price Index (PPI) rose 0.76% year-on-year in August 2026, slowing from a 1.51% increase in July and marking the weakest annual gain since February. Among the main sectors, agriculture, livestock, and fishing was the only one to post growth above the headline rate, with a 6.80% rise. Industry edged up 0.26%, while mining contracted 6.59%, both underperforming the overall 0.76% increase.

The strongest positive contributions came from pome and stone fruits, up 22.07%; potatoes, which surged 129.82%; and citrus fruits, which climbed 58.43%. Offsetting these gains, the largest negative contributions were recorded in crude petroleum and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, down 5.17%; milled or green coffee, down 19.09%; and coffee, down 18.03%.

On a monthly basis, the PPI declined 0.33% in August. From January through August, the index accumulated an increase of 2.95%.
