Mexican Consumer Sentiment Slips in September as IPSOS PCSI Eases from August High

Mexico’s consumer confidence cooled in September 2026, with the Thomson Reuters IPSOS Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI) edging down on a month-over-month basis.

The headline indicator fell to 50.84 in September 2026 from 52.77 in August 2026, according to data updated on 9 September 2026. The shift marks a pullback from August’s stronger reading and indicates a softening in sentiment compared with the previous month.

On a month-over-month basis, the “Actual” comparison reflects this September decline relative to August, while the “Previous” comparison captures the change seen in August versus July. Together, the readings suggest that after a firmer period in late summer, Mexican consumer sentiment has eased back closer to the neutral 50-point threshold as autumn begins.
