Norway’s Inflation Ticks Up to 3.3% in August, Ending Recent Cooling Trend

Norway’s consumer price inflation accelerated to 3.3% year-on-year in August 2026, up from 3.0% in July, according to data updated on 10 September 2026. The increase marks a pause in the recent disinflationary trend, as price growth picked up slightly on an annual basis.

Both the July and August readings are calculated on a year-over-year basis, comparing each month’s consumer prices with the same month a year earlier. While inflation remains moderate by recent historical standards, the August uptick suggests that underlying price pressures have not fully abated, and may keep policymakers and markets alert to renewed upside risks in the months ahead.
