Argentina’s CPI Inflation Eases Marginally to 33.7% YoY in August 2026

Argentina’s consumer price inflation inched down in August 2026, with the year-over-year Consumer Price Index (CPI) reading coming in at 33.7%, marginally below July’s 33.8%. The latest figure, updated on 10 September 2026, suggests a slight easing in price pressures but still reflects a very high inflation environment.

Both the July and August readings are based on year-over-year comparisons, measuring price changes relative to the same month a year earlier. The near-unchanged pace between 33.8% in July and 33.7% in August indicates that, while inflation may be stabilizing at elevated levels, there has not yet been a decisive shift toward disinflation.

For policymakers, investors, and businesses, the August data will be scrutinized for signs of whether Argentina is entering a period of gradual inflation moderation or simply experiencing a temporary plateau in its high inflation trend.
