Slovenia’s consumer confidence indicator declined by 1 percentage point in September 2026, falling to -23 from -22 in August. This was the lowest level in four months. The downturn was mainly driven by weaker expectations regarding the overall economic situation over both the past 12 months (-38 vs. -37 in August) and the coming year (-29 vs. -27).
Households’ assessments of their financial situation over the past 12 months also deteriorated (-19 vs. -16), although their expectations for the year ahead improved slightly (-14 vs. -15). In addition, perceptions of savings prospects for the next 12 months worsened (-14 vs. -10).
By contrast, willingness to make major purchases in the coming year improved marginally (-31 vs. -32).
Among other indicators, price expectations for the past 12 months strengthened, rising to 68 from 65, while expectations for price developments over the next 12 months increased to 61 from 56. Concerns about unemployment over the next year eased, with the corresponding indicator declining to 17 from 22.
