Croatia’s industrial production increased by 5.2% year-on-year in August 2026, easing from an eight-month high of 7.2% in July. Growth in the manufacturing sector slowed to 4.8% from 6.7% in the previous month, reflecting weaker expansions in several key segments: coke and refined petroleum products (4.7% vs 14.6% in July), basic metals (1.8% vs 8.7%), and electrical equipment (79.9% vs 106.4%). Meanwhile, mining and quarrying remained in decline, unchanged at -3.7%.
By contrast, output in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply accelerated, rising 13.4% year-on-year compared with 10.9% in July. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, overall industrial production fell by 0.4%, reversing a 2.3% increase recorded in the previous month. For the January–August period, industrial output was 1.8% higher than in the same period a year earlier.
