Albania’s GDP grew by 3.61% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, slowing slightly from 3.71% in the previous quarter. The strongest contributions came from public administration, education, and health (12.1% vs. 14% in Q1), followed by real estate activities (7.2% vs. 9%); trade, transport, accommodation, and food services (5.5% vs. 1.6%); financial and insurance activities (3.5% vs. 5%); information and communication (2.6% vs. 2.6%); construction (1.4% vs. 3.4%); and industry, electricity, and water supply (0.5% vs. -2.1%).
By contrast, output in agriculture, forestry, and fishing (-2.3% vs. -0.5%), professional and administrative activities (-2.2% vs. 7.2%), and arts, entertainment, and recreation (-2.1% vs. -3.5%) acted as a drag on overall growth. On a quarterly basis, the economy expanded by 0.8%, matching the pace recorded in the previous quarter.
