Brazil’s services economy moved back into contraction territory in September, as the S&P Global Services PMI edged down to 49.2 from 50.5 in August 2026, according to data updated on 5 October 2026.

The drop below the 50.0 threshold, which separates expansion from contraction, signals a loss of momentum after the sector had been marginally growing in August.
