New Zealand’s BusinessNZ Performance of Services Index slipped slightly to 50.9 in September 2026 from a downwardly revised 51.0 in August, but still indicated a fourth consecutive month of expansion in the services sector. The latest figure eased back from August’s eight-month high, as growth in new orders moderated (52.6 vs 54.8). In contrast, the stocks sub-index accelerated (52.3 vs 50.9), and activity/sales moved back into expansionary territory (50.2 vs 49.2). Offsetting these gains, supplier deliveries remained in contraction (49.4 vs 48.9), as did employment (49.8 vs 49.4).
