Tourist arrivals in Macau rose 15.9% year-on-year to 3.217 million in September 2026, accelerating from a 6.1% increase in August. Despite the sharp gain, the number of visitors declined from its all-time high. Same-day visitors surged 23.8% to 1.933 million, while overnight visitors increased 5.7% to 1.283 million.
The average length of stay for all visitors edged down by 0.1 day from a year earlier to 1.1 days, whereas overnight visitors stayed an average of 2.4 days.
Arrivals from mainland China, Macau’s largest source market, grew 17.4%. Increases were also recorded from Taiwan (18.7%), Japan (2.7%), Thailand (42.3%), the United States (24.7%), India (11.4%) and Australia (15.4%). Visitor arrivals from Russia jumped 124.3%.
For the period from January to September, total visitor arrivals rose 8.5% year-on-year to 32.181 million.
