On the macroeconomic front, the closely watched US jobs report is due this week, alongside ISM manufacturing and services surveys. Comments from several Federal Reserve officials are also on the calendar and may offer additional clues about the central bank’s policy outlook.
Last week, major US equity benchmarks finished lower, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite dropping 2%, and the Dow and S&P 500 slipping 0.85% and 0.57%, respectively. Selling intensified toward the end of the week as weaker-than-expected tech earnings deepened worries about the sustainability of the AI-driven rally.
