Speculative traders increased their net short positions on the Australian dollar in the latest reporting period, according to fresh data on CFTC AUD speculative net positions updated on 06 November 2026.
Net positions slipped further into negative territory, moving from -128.3K previously to -129.5K. The shift indicates that market participants have marginally expanded their bearish stance on the AUD, suggesting persistent cautiousness toward the currency.
While the change is modest, the move underscores ongoing skepticism among speculative investors, who continue to favor downside exposure to the Australian dollar rather than betting on a sustained recovery.
