JSX closed down 0.02% at 2380.087 in thin volume, led by profit-taking in banks, telecommunication stocks. The benchmark index was moving in a very limited range reflecting caution and a lack of fresh leads despite gains in Asian markets.
Among decliners are Telkom that ended down 1.2% at IDR8,550, Astra down 1.0% at IDR29,150, Bank Mandiri off 1,7% at IDR4,150, but toll road operator Jasa marga up 4.8% at IDR1,880 on expectations on higher toll tariffs later this year.
Tomorrow the market is expected to remain cautious and consolidate amid fears of higher inflation.
