HSI closed down 0.71% at 20,098.62 due to weakness in A-shares and falling Shanghai Composite. Investors turned to safe-heaven stocks as more concerns raising after Bank of China says it may issue new shares to boost capital base.
Cosco Pacific ended up 1% at HK$12.08, Bank of China remained unchanged at HK$3.81, BOC HK up +6.0% at HK$16.02 after beating analyst expectations on 1H results, but Espirit’s shares down 5.5% at HK$48.10 after posting worse-than-expected results.
