The U.S. stock market review

The active purchases of the Caterpillar, General Electric, DuPont and variety of other industrial companies’ shares promoted the growth of the US three basic stock indexes to the new closing maximum on Tuesday.

On Tuesday Dow Jones Industrial Average index increased by 56,61 points or 0,59 %, to 9683,41 points, and it was the seventh session with growth of the last eight and closed at the highest level since October, 6th. Leaders of growth were the Caterpillar shares, which rose by 2,93 dollars or 6 %, to 51,70 dollars, General Electric share, which surged by 65 cents or 4,2 % to 16 dollars and DuPont shares, which ticked up by 87 cents or 2,7 %, to 33,15 dollars.

Standard and Poor\'s 500 index raised by 3,29 points or 0,31 %, to 1052,63 that also became the highest closing level since October, 6th. Nasdaq Composite grew by 10,86 points or 0,52 %, to 2102,64 points.

Many investors called to be careful with the stocks at the beginning of September, noticing that this month is historically the weakest for the stock market. Moreover, taking into account the considerable last months growth, there were serious fears concerning the possible profit fixing wave by the investors in September.

Nevertheless, at present these fears were not confirmed, because each day of growth was followed by the next one during the last two weeks. With the continuing growth the fears is also strengthening that some consider as the return indicator.

The comments of the US Federal reserve system chairman Ben Bernanke promoted the stock indexes upturn on Tuesday, he declared that, from the technical point of view, “recession is very likely over”.
