GBP/JPY Elliott wave count and Fibonacci levels - March 22, 2011

The GBP/JPY is developing wave A of medium term uptrend - colored royal blue in the chart. Within this wave there's impulse subwave C developing - colored red in the chart. The targets of the upmove are Fibonacci expansions off 122.49-132.55-130.50, and 126.02-132.55-130.50.

Resistances:

- 134.54 = contracted objective point (COP)
- 136.72 = COP
- 137.03 = objective point (OP)

If the price keeps declining the immediate supports will be Fibonacci retracements of 122.49-132.60, and 126.02-132.60

Supports:

- 130.09 = .382 retracement
- 129.31 = .50 ret
- 128.74 = .382 ret
- 128.53 = .618 ret
- 127.54 = .50 ret
- 126.35 = .618 ret

Overbought/Oversold

Assuming that the medium term trend is up it's preferable to look for longs when the Detrended Oscillator gets below the zero level (current prices), or into the oversold area (120-180) pips below the current price - this rougly corresponds to 130.09 Fib support level.
