Trump and Pelosi failed to agree again

Trump and Pelosi failed to agree again

On Tuesday, the White house lowered expectations for a major package of measures to combat the coronavirus, which was supposed to be agreed by the US presidential election on November 3, saying that House speaker Nancy Pelosi is asking too much.

White house press Secretary Kaylee McEnany said that the democratic proposal represented by Pelosi includes incentives for immigrants who are in the United States illegally.

He added that "It's not serious if we provide relief in the form of incentives for the American people, it should be that way, for the American people, for the citizens of the United States."

A law passed by the House of representatives would allow tax-paying immigrants to receive emergency relief funds.

Earlier, White house press Secretary Alyssa Farah went beyond the Presidential and Congressional elections next Tuesday and told Fox News: "We are confident that we can achieve something in the coming weeks."

President Donald Trump and his economic-supporting Republicans disagree with democratic lawmakers on the need for an additional Federal aid package for Americans affected by the pandemic.

The house of representatives passed and announced its latest plan in May for incentives but Senate Republicans opposed its size.

Trump himself supports the plan for a major aid package but he and Pelosi could not agree.

The white house said that the main sticking point in the negotiations was a plan to help state and local governments, also Democrats cite the lack of a national coronavirus testing plan.

On Monday, a Pelosi spokeswoman said she hopes to reach an agreement before the election.
