Wall Street futures change little on Monday

Wall Street futures change little on Monday

As of 13.11 GMT+3, futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Index (DJIA) are down 0.05%, to 34,586 points; the broad market S&P 500 - by 0.02%, to 4,454.75 points.

Trading in futures for US stocks on Monday is weak, and the exchanges themselves will not open at all, since the US has a day off on the occasion of the public holiday - Emancipation Day (Juneteenth).

In addition, investors continue to evaluate the last meeting of the US Federal Reserve System, following which the regulator kept the discount rate at the level of 5-5.25% per annum, after a cycle of increases at ten meetings in a row. At the same time, the regulator admitted that the rate could be raised again before the end of the year.

Historically, when the Fed pauses its monetary tightening cycle, US equity markets generally perform very well and generally outperform global indices. In the previous six Fed tightening cycles, the average S&P 12-month return after the Fed pause was 19%.
