The European Union is facing big troubles. The countries in the eurozone are gripped by an energy crisis.
According to Cristina Lobillo Borrero, Director of Energy Policy at DG ENER of the European Commission, the eurozone is in a severe energy crisis. "The European Union is currently experiencing a very serious energy crisis," she said. "Important steps must be taken to diversify and secure new EU gas sources," Borrero emphasized.
She also mentioned that Azerbaijan is a reliable partner for the EU in gas issues. Moreover, she highlighted the ongoing increase in gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Europe.
Analysts noted that the European market remains very sensitive to gas supply issues. Competition in this sector is intensifying, with China, India, and Japan surpassing the EU in securing gas supplies. Analysts warn that EU leaders need to brace for another spike in gas prices.
