China is ready to invest in drinking water production from Baikal, said Yu Tszyandun, Chairman of Little Frog Water, a Shanghai-based company that develops technologies for environmental protection during the 3-rd International Forum "Baikal Dialogue" taking place in Ulan-Ude, Russia.
“At this forum, we plan to examine the plan of tourism development in Buryatia aimed at the Chinese client. Moreover, as far as there are environmental problems in China, the country’s well-to-do want to buy the land overseas, in such clean places as Buryatia for example. 30 percent of the Chinese people have properties in many countries”, Yu Tszyandun said.
International Forum "Baikal Dialogue" opened on August 21. During a 4-day meeting, government representatives, businesses, social activists and environmentalists from Russia, Mongolia, Japan, Austria and China will discuss the development and prepare proposals aimed at the preservation of Lake Baikal and the sustainable development of the Baikal region.
