Recently, President Trump announced that soon, a national company will unveil a new artificial intelligence (AI) development that will outperform the Chinese chatbot DeepSeek. As for the AI breakthrough that sent American stocks tumbling, the Republican leader saw no issue. Trump stated that this could actually benefit America. He has made it clear that the country is not afraid of losing its technological edge. Trump vowed that the US will dominate and lead the world in AI, leaving no room for doubt.
Let us not forget that last week, shares of Nvidia, the world's most valuable company and a key supplier of AI hardware, took a nosedive. The market reacted sharply to the emergence of a more affordable Chinese startup model. This model was recognized as cost-effective and efficient, offering similar capabilities at lower expenses.
As a result, the US chipmaker’s stock plummeted nearly 17%. Experts believe that DeepSeek’s arrival undermines the investment appeal of AI-related companies. Bloomberg even stated that the launch of DeepSeek called America’s technological dominance into question.
