The authorities of Thailand discuss the idea to provide tourists with identification wristbands in a move to boost tourist safety in the resorts and find the foreigners who got lost, Reuters reports.
The Thai government decided to strengthen measures to ensure the safety of tourists in the resorts of Thailand after two British travelers were found murdered on the island of Koh Tao. The bodies of Hannah Witheridge, 23, and David Miller, 24, were found on a beach. The authorities ordered to install more surveillance cameras in major tourist areas by late December.
Currently, the tourism industry in Thailand has a slump in visitors. Tourist arrivals fell 11% in early 2014 compared with the previous year.
