Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is sure that the friendship with Ukraine may cost the EU dear. Speaking to journalists, the politician touched upon the amity between the EU and Ukraine. He noticed that Ukraine's integration into the EU will cost around 25 billion euros. It is weird that the cost of the Hungarian integration to the EU did not bother politicians when the country joined the single currency bloc. It seemed like Hungary was a welcome guest at that moment, but not a country mired in crisis.
Having gone from rags to riches, Viktor Orban forgot about supporting the neighbors. The Prime Minister estimated the value of the Ukrainian integration into the EU - 25 billion euros, quite an impressive amount. “We need to clarify who will pay an annual 25 billion euros needed to support Ukraine. As long as this question remains unanswered, the issue of giving Ukraine the EU membership isn't on the agenda,” said Orban, replying to the journalists questions. Despite the circumstances, Orban specified that he is not against the new member of the EU. “However, the country should be stable, both politically and economically, and to be able to control its borders,” underlined the Head of the Hungarian government.
