It seems to become quite real to have a legitimate reason use Facebook in office. The social networking giant is rolling out its new product called Facebook at Work. It is designed for intra-office communication. According to developers, it will allow colleagues to exchange messages and collaborate more effectively using the familiar social networking interface.
Facebook will promote its professional version of a social network as the one geared towards the use within companies totally separate from an individual’s personal Facebook account. It means that all information is secure and available for a particular company.
The team of developers headed by Lars Rasmussen said that the basic idea of the project is to separate Facebook at Work user profiles from personal Facebook accounts. But it will contain much of the same functionality as Facebook like a news feed and contacts.
Experts say Facebook at Work would hit it big given that contacting with co-workers via Facebook is a common thing.
Currently, the pilot testing of the product among the selected group of partners is in full swing. Facebook at Work is available for download as an iOS and Android app.
