BBC reported that four of the six largest gas suppliers in Great Britain have reduced gas prices for households in the last fortnight.
The energy supplier RWE Npower has announced price cuts starting from February 16, 2015. This measure enables an average customer to save about 35 pounds a year.
The company promised to keep on bringing down prices in case wholesale gas prices will fall further.
The same steps have been already taken by other large energy suppliers. So, British Gas is going to lower gas prices by 5% since February 16, 2015. Scottish Power is planning to cut bills by 4.8% since February 20. E.On is ready for a 3.5% cut since February 13.
Industrial production in Great Britain edged down 0.1% in October, 2014 compared to the previous month, according to the figures of the Office for National Statistics (ONC). At the same time, production of raw materials in the country increased by 2% in October, gas and oil production surged by 2.8%, energy production rose 0.6%, and water supply expanded by 0.7%.
