Mannheim-based FG Wahlen conducted the opinion poll for ZDF television. The poll revealed that nowadays more Germans oppose a new round of sanctions against Russia. To be exact, in January 2015 54% of polled Germans stand against tougher sanctions compared to 38% in September 2014.
Besides, 54% of respondents think that Greece should stay in the eurozone. At the same time, 75% of Germans oppose writing off Greece’s foreign debts and easing repayment terms of the bailout. Nevertheless, over a third of the pollees (36%) insist that Greece should leave the eurozone.
As for the political parties in Germany, the poll showed almost the same results as previously. Most of the population (41%) favors the Christian Democratic Union which is currently in power. The Social Democratic party has found support from 25% of the respondents. Environmentalists are supported by 12%. The Left party wins favor with 8%. The right-wing Alternative for Germany is popular with just 6%.
Nearly 75% of the pollees insist on the constructive and efficient dialogue between the political parties and Germany’s anti-Islam group PEGIDA. The opinion poll was carried out by FG Wahlen among 1,258 Germans since January 27 to 29.
