The U.S. is planning to export up to 65% of its gas. This was reported by Department Bureau of Energy Resources Deputy Assistance Secretary for Energy Diplomacy Robin Dunnigan in the Energy Union conference in Riga.
As Robin Dunnigan noted, the Europe is in favour of diversifying gas suppliers. She proposed that American liquid natural gas is one possible alternative for the region. Gas exporting is set to begin at the end of this year.
“Russian gas deliveries remain of great importance for Europe, but more sources of gas production and more ways to deliver it benefit everyone,” Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy Diplomacy told the Latvian LNT television channel.
She said the U.S. plans to send up to 65% of its natural gas after building additional LNG export terminals. A part of the exports will go to Europe and another part will be directed to Asia.
