The leaders of the world’s biggest oil and gas corporation Total reported about their decision to continue their participation in the projects in Russia. They believe that such stained relations are short-term. The head of Total E&P Russia Jacques de Boisseson presented the company’s official position during the meeting with Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novakov. According to international observers, Russian - European relations are at the stage of the cold war and most expensive joint projects are under threat. As Boisseson’s term, the company’s attitude towards Russia is the same as it was under the government of Christofe de Margerie. All the problems are short-term and there is no reason to step back. Russia also noted the high importance of longstanding cooperation with Total for both countries. Total has been a reliable Russia’s partner for many years. Total actively took part in projects fulfillment. That is the example of high professionalism and complete understanding. During the discussion, issues of further construction of liquefied natural gas factory in Yamal LNG were tackled. It was noted that the fulfillment of the project is going at a planned pace. The construction is already completed by 20%-25%. The head of the French concern reported on the joint work with NOVATEK, which supposes the development of the Termokarstovoye gas and condensates field. Previous head of Total died in a plane crash at Moscow airport. His plane crashed into a snow-cleaning machine.
