Russian capital may participate in the $40 billion program of a financial assistance to Ukraine. According to the news agency, Russian Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Storchak reminded that when the MIF was preparing the aid program for Georgia, while the known events took place, Moscow specially stipulated that the Russian money wasn't involved. Here, there are no such reservations so far, the minister said.
Earlier, on February 12 Managing Director of the IMF Christine Lagarde announced that the amount of financial assistance to Ukraine would reach a total of $40 billion. Money will be allocated within four years. It will be provided by several sources.
Following the results of 2014 the external national debt of the country hit $30 billion. It is a quarter of the GDP value of Ukraine. Prime minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk reported that Kiev has to pay a debt of $11 billion in 2015. Thus, gold and foreign exchange reserves of the country don't exceed $8 billion.
