Russia's imports reduce by 37% this year

Russia’s mports in the first two months of 2015 amounted to $22.982 billion. Compared to the same period in 2014 imports declined by 36.9%, the Federal Customs Service of Russia reported.
In February of 2015 imports descended by 33.8% compared to same month of the previous year. From January 2015, imports increased by 32.5% to $13.097billion.
Imports of goods and shoes grew by 24%, food and raw materials imports advanced by 11.8%, chemical products imports rose by 48.5%, and engineering products imports increased by 37.2%.
Meat and offal imports doubled, imports of dairy products rose by 3.7%, imports of cereals grew by 2.4 times, imports of oil soared by 4.6%, vegetables imports rose by 20.6%, alcoholic and nonalcoholic products imports increased by 16.1%, and tobacco imports grew by 5.4%.
In February 2015 sugar shipments in price equivalent declined by 4.2 times, fruit imports reduced by 2.8%, and fish imports decreased by 4.6%.
Imports of aircrafts rose by 1.7 times, mechanical equipment imports increased by 52.5%, optics imports grew by 33.8%, ground transport shipments advanced by 24.3%, ship and vessels imports climbed by 1.1%. However, shipments of railway locomotive parts reduced more than twice.
In February of 2015 compared to February of 2014 the following data was logged: imports of provisions reduced by 44.3%, textile and shoes imports decreased by 35.3%, chemical products imports declined by 26.3%, and engineering industry products lowered by 33.5%.
Imports of dairy products fell by 5.6 times, imports of fish declined triply, sugar imports diminished by 2.9 times, meet and offal shipments slid by 2.3 times, alcoholic and nonalcoholic products imports reduced by 2.1 times, fruit imports lowered by 1.9 times, imports of vegetables edged down by 1.7 times, cereals imports fell by 30.7%, tobacco imports declined by 10.3%, and imports of oil reduced by 7.1%.
