Amid a tough geopolitical situation around the world, Russia has to change both political and economic partners dramatically. The West was able to show solidarity and to stand together despite internal dissents. Business relationships established over the last twenty years are losing their relevance on the background of many mutual sanctions. Considering these circumstances, Russia has to be friends with North Korea and Madagascar. According to the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, the agreement on establishing and developing relations in all areas was signed between Russia and Madagascar. It is noted that the cooperation will be carried out not only in trade and economic sphere but also in the military and technical sector. "We reviewed the current state of bilateral relations, and reaffirmed our mutual interest in intensifying our contacts in all areas. We agreed that the priority areas for cooperation include geological exploration, tourism, banking, personnel training, and military-technical cooperation,” said the Russian diplomat after the meeting. Sergey Lavrov added that "there is good potential to expand trade and economic ties and investment cooperation.” There are good prospects for such cooperation. Last year, bilateral trade rose 12 percent. Russian authorities intend to use administrative resources and promised to "provide necessary assistance to business communities." The government’s support in this direction could guarantee the successful development of new economic and business ties.
