According to the experts who participated in the poll conducted by a leading supplier of financial information, Ukraine is likely to become the world’s worst performing economy. Following the military conflict in the country, its GDP is expected to decline by 4% in the fourth quarter of 2015, compared to the same period of the previous year. This is the worst economic result among all of the 47 states under analysis.
However, Ukraine is not very far away from Russia in the rankings. The Russian GDP is expected to drop by 3.5% by the end of this year due to the economic sanctions imposed by the EU and a plunge in global oil prices.
Economists believe that the list of the world’s 10 worst economies in 2015 will include Ukraine, Russia, Brazil, Argentina, Switzerland, Croatia, Serbia, Greece, Italy, and Kazakhstan.
The economic figures that characterize a number of Latin American states do not differ substantially from those of the ranked countries. Argentina and Brazil suffering from rampant inflation and high unemployment will lose 1.5% and 1.6% of their GDPs respectively. It is worth mentioning that Brazil is losing ground among the 28 countries from the previous analysis. Earlier, experts forecast an increase of 1% in the country’s economic growth.
