The European Union belied rumors around new sanctions against Russia over the country’s military involvement in the Syrian conflict. Earlier, media agencies reported that the EU could apply new restrictions to the Russian Federation in the wake of continued airstrikes of the Russian aviation in Syria.
Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad addressed Vladimir Putin and asked him for military aid. After that, the upper house of the Russian Parliament gave the president approval to use the air force in Syria.
According to reports, the Russian air and naval forces are carrying out strikes against ISIS positions in Syria. Attacks were launched on October 7. Missile ships Dagestan, Grad Sviyazhsk, Uglich, and Veliky Ustyug launched a series of missiles against ISIS infrastructure in Syria from the Caspian Sea.
