International hi-tech giant Apple Inc. is going to sell its gadgets in Russia under a new brand. The management has posted a statement on its plans to register the Yabloko trademark, which is the word Apple translated into Russian. Moreover, a patent application has been submitted to the Russian Agency for patents and trademarks. The legendary manufacture will use the new trademark to sell the following devices in Russia: iPod media players, electronic books, computers, vote count devices, and medical electronics. Apple is launching this large-scale campaign to boost its sales in Russia. In addition to consumer electronics, the huge Russian market will be supplied with stationery, conventional books, including computer course books and popular books on economics and teaching produced by the corporation under the Yabloko trademark. Interestingly, the idea is not brand-new. A few years ago, Apple Inc. made a failed attempt to get permission to register the Yabloko trademark. The company encountered an obstacle. The Russian political party bearing the same name Yabloko expressed a firm refusal of this marketing campaign. This time, the famous hi-tech company and the namesake party in Russia reached an accord. Party leader Sergey Mitrokhin said that they have no objections to launching a new trademark with the same name in the commercial segment.
