South Korean company Samsung Electronics and the US Thomson Reuters announced partnership. Samsung mobile devices and services will gain access to the content of the western news agency.
Thomson Reuters is going to provide Samsung with information on finance, stock markets, law, and science. The companies believe that the collaboration will help the electronics producer to modernize its devices and improve mobile content.
Earlier, Samsung reported revenue growth in the recent years. In the third quarter of 2015, the smartphone maker recorded 7.3 trillion won or 6.3 billion US dollars of operational income which is 79.8% higher than in the previous year. At the same time, revenue rose by 7.5% to 51 trillion won or 44 billion US dollars.
Next year, Samsung plans to cut investment in semiconductors by 20%. Spending optimization will be primarily focused on memory chips, while production capacity will remain on the same level. Therefore, it will help to avoid overproduction and keep prices steady. The main goal of Samsung for 2016 is to generate revenue, and not the output volumes.
