The data from the Federal Statistical Office of Germany (Destatis) showed that German exports increased by 4.4% on a year basis to 105.9 billion euro in September 2015. Exports also rose by a calendar and seasonally adjusted 2.6% compared with the previous month.
Imports grew by 3.9% to 83 billion euro in September compared with the same period of 2014. They also increased by a calendar and seasonally adjusted 3.6% from August.
The positive trade balance for the reporting period rose to 22.9 billion euro, an increase of 48.7% on month. On a year basis, the foreign trade surplus grew by 6%.
Meanwhile, the economists forecasted the German foreign trade surplus in September at 20 billion euro.
Exports grew by 7% in the first nine months of this year compared with the same period of the last year and came in at 895.9 billion euro. At the same time, imports grew by 4.2% to 709.2 billion euro.
The foreign trade surplus in Germany from January to September rose by 19.4% to 186.7 billion euro.
