The Russian government is searching for new partners after it failed to cultivate economic relations with China. The so-called energy agreement of the century worth 400 billion dollars between Russia and China was not signed. Moreover, China has not recognized Crimea as a part of Russia and is not ready to spoil relations with the US, its largest trading partner. News about a powerful alliance between Russia and India replaced the news about Russia’s strong alliance with China. Recently, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi have held talks in Kremlin. At the end of the meeting, the politicians signed several agreements. However, the Joint Statement titled "Shared Trust, New Horizons" was the main result of the Summit. Nevertheless, the Russian government is rather vague about the future relations with India taking into account its past experience of cooperation with China. In case of another failure, Russia will not have to give lengthy explanations as the alliance is only at the design stage. However, the first step is already done.
