Iran opens new chapter in its relations with Russia. Following the latest trend on the world stage, these two countries decided to create a coalition aiming to protect Russia’s market from a dangerous enemy. Fruits and vegetables from Turkey are threatening the Russian consumers now! The Rosselkhoznadzor and Iranian Veterinary Organization agreed to cooperate in setting up a barrier against the Turkish imports.
At the beginning of the year, the Russian government has ordered the competent authorities of the country to launch authentication of phytosanitary certificates that Iran issues for its products. Besides, the Iranian controlling authorities were ordered to inform the Rosselkhoznadzor on all existing certificates to avert any possibility of falsification and exports from Turkey. In spite of friendly relations between the partners, the Russian government expressed concern that restricted for import Turkish goods can find their way to the Russian market in the guise of supplies from Iran. Thus, producers can use fake Iranian certificates. However, Iran hurried up to assure Moscow of sharing this concern and expressed intention to take urgent measures to prevent exports of Turkish quarantine goods. As we remember, the Republic of Belarus gave similar promises not so long ago.
Getting the wind of easy money, the Iranian plant protection organization agreed to email relevant information to the Rosselkhoznadzor and verify phytosanitary certificates that the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance would forward for authentication. So, we can expect the world-wide known Iranian tangerines to appear in Russia’s stores next to the so-called Belarus' shrimps.
