Existing home sales in the United States rose at the fastest pace in nine years in 2015, the National Association of Realtors (NAR) reported.
For all of 2015, sales advanced to 5.26 million units.
The NAR said existing home sales in the US jumped a record 14.7% in December 2015 to an annual rate of 5.46 million units after hitting 4.76 million units in November, the lowest level since 2014.
Meanwhile, analysts polled by Bloomberg had projected a 9.2% increase in existing home sales in December to an annual rate of 5.2 million units.
