An anonymous trader is creating chaos on the Borsa Istanbul for quite a long time. The player nicknamed ‘the dude’ puts in huge amounts of money and follows a rather complicated investing strategy. The mystery investor appeared about 18 months ago and made bets for 450 million dollars. The dude almost doubled the average trading volume back then.
The trader acts unpredictably undermining confidence of other market participants. It is impossible to project future steps and no one can identify him or her. The only known thing is the broker with which the dude works. Still, it is pointless as the investor changes brokerage companies often and chooses relatively humble brokers. For instance, the latest company the dude has been trading with used to make around 2% of trades on the Borsa Istanbul, but thanks to the mystery trader, the broker is now among leaders.
