The world’s biggest Apple retail store has opened in Dalian, China. It is located in the Olympia 66 shopping mall in the popular tourist city in Liaoning Province. Olympia 66, the eight-story shopping mall, opened in December. It has won a number of awards, including Best Retail Architecture in Asia Pacific.
Dalian is very popular among domestic tourists and foreign visitors, especially from Japan, South Korea and Russia.
Before, the title of the world’s largest Apple store belonged to Dubai with its retail space of about 50,000 square feet.
Hundreds of Apple fans queued outside at night to be first to visit the world’s biggest Apple flagship store. Over 80 shop assistants were there to greet customers and guide them. The store provides dozens of demonstration models of Apple products, from iPhone 6S to iMac 5K and MacBook Air 12.
Every year Apple opens more and more stores worldwide. It plans to launch about 40 Chinese branded retail stores by the end of this year. China is Apple's second largest market after the US.
