Eurozone finance ministers and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) agreed to release the new aid package of 10.3 billion euros for Greece. The amount will be paid out in two tranches.
After negotiations lasting over 10 hours, the Eurogroup ministers agreed to release 10.3 billion euros from the European Stability Mechanism (ESM). As a result, Greece is now safe from bankruptcy.
The €10.3 billion is part of Greece’s bailout loan worth €86 billion, which was agreed on last year by EU countries, the European Central Bank and the IMF.
